AUDITION NOTICE: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

WT is committed to being a diverse and open organisation. Auditions are open to anyone, regardless of background or experience, and we particularly welcome those who have been traditionally under-represented in theatre.

Synopsis

Jean Brodie’s progressive approach to education comes to create friction with the more conventional school life at Marcia Blaine. Set in Edinburgh in the 1930’s the play follows the relationships between Brodie and her chosen set of girls as well as with some of her fellow staff members. In ‘her prime’ Brodie is magniicent but in the end ‘the establishment’ will prevail.

The action takes place over eight years or so from 1931 onwards. The novel by Muriel Spark has been adapted for the stage by Jay Presson Allen.
