WT are thrilled to announce the launch of our dedicated group for writing for performance led by Hedda Bird, whose recent writing credits include a celebrated new adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby produced at Oxford Playhouse. The group will be open to all those who are interested in writing for theatre, and will meet in-between productions at WT. Write@WT will give those involved a chance to share work and develop ideas, with an aim to produce regular rehearsed readings. A few weeks ago, WT lost one of its most active, talented, and well-respected members, Richard Coleman. Any of our patrons that have seen a show at WT over the last 10-20 years will have seen his work on stage, with his talents as a scenic painter most often being deployed to design and paint all the floors of our sets.
